TOPIC: Stop the Waste

SCRIPTURE FOR TODAY: Luke 15: 11-32
FOCUS VERSE: “And not many days after the younger son gathered all together, and took his journey into a far country, and there wasted his substance with riotous living.” (Luke 15: 13)
Our Focal Scripture speaks of how the prodigal son went to a far country and wasted his substance with riotous living. At the foundation of his errors in the far country, was waste. He had resources which he got from the father, but all he did was to waste the resources. He misapplied what he received. He had goods of great value, but he wasted all. His destiny went down the drains because of waste.
Friend, be intentional to do away with a culture of waste. Stop wasting the resources that God has put in your hands. Stop wasting the opportunities that have come your way. Stop wasting the encounters you have had with God. Stop wasting the precious time that you should use and achieve major results. Stop wasting the grace of God that has been released to you. Stop wasting your capacity and capabilities. Stop the waste.
The father of the prodigal son was wealthy by all standards; so the goods that he gave to the prodigal son had the capacity to keep the prodigal son wealthy, but alas, he chose the path of waste and everything went down the drains. If only God were to open your eyes to see what you have lost because of waste, just maybe you would speedily stop the waste. If God were to show you the consequences of your waste, you would stop already.
Whenever you are not using what God has given you to achieve more, you are wasting it. Whenever you are not using your resources to make a positive difference or impact, you are simply indulging in needless waste.
Whenever you are allowing what you have to achieve less than it ought to have achieved, you are allowing waste. Whenever you are allowing your resources, be it financial, spiritual, relationship, etc. to waste, you are losing out.
Cut off the culture of waste. Disconnect from every lifestyle that speaks of waste. Don’t allow what God has put in your hands to waste.
2 Corinthians 6: 1 (GNB) says: “In our work together with God, then, we beg you who have received God’s grace not to let it be wasted.”
Declare With Me: The cycle of waste has ended; I will not waste what God put in my hands, in Jesus’ name!
