SCRIPTURE READING: Luke 8: 41-56
41 And behold, there came a man named Jairus, and he was a ruler of the synagogue. And he fell down at Jesus’ feet and begged Him to come to his house, 42 for he had an only daughter about twelve years of age, and she was dying.
But as He went, the multitudes thronged Him. 43 Now a woman, having a flow of blood for twelve years, who had spent all her livelihood on physicians and could not be healed by any, 44 came from behind and touched the border of His garment. And immediately her flow of blood stopped.
45 And Jesus said, “Who touched Me?”
When all denied it, Peter [a]and those with him said, “Master, the multitudes throng and press You, [b]and You say, ‘Who touched Me?’ ”
46 But Jesus said, “Somebody touched Me, for I perceived power going out from Me.” 47 Now when the woman saw that she was not hidden, she came trembling; and falling down before Him, she declared to Him in the presence of all the people the reason she had touched Him and how she was healed immediately.
48 And He said to her, “Daughter, [c]be of good cheer; your faith has made you well. Go in peace.”
49 While He was still speaking, someone came from the ruler of the synagogue’s house, saying to him, “Your daughter is dead. Do not trouble the [d]Teacher.”
50 But when Jesus heard it, He answered him, saying, “Do not be afraid; only believe, and she will be made well.” 51 When He came into the house, He permitted no one to go [e]in except [f]Peter, James, and John, and the father and mother of the girl. 52 Now all wept and mourned for her; but He said, “Do not weep; she is not dead, but sleeping.” 53 And they ridiculed Him, knowing that she was dead.
54 But He [g]put them all outside, took her by the hand and called, saying, “Little girl, arise.” 55 Then her spirit returned, and she arose immediately. And He commanded that she be given something to eat. 56 And her parents were astonished, but He charged them to tell no one what had happened.
FOCUS VERSE: “And he put them all out, and took her by the hand, and called, saying, Maid, arise.” (Luke 8: 54)
Before Jesus raised the daughter of Jairus back to life, He first sent away all those who mocked His word. Jesus spoke a word about that young maiden, and before He fulfilled it, He sent away those who mocked Him when He said the girl was not dead, but sleeping. Jesus sent away those whose disposition was contrary to the miracle that was about to happen. Jesus sent away those who did not believe in what He was about to do for Jairus.
Friend, when it is time to deliver, discard the negative. Send away those who do not believe God’s word concerning you. Send away the voices that negate your prophecy. Send away the voices that insist that you will not have what God says you will have. Reject every voice of negativity that is contrary to your confessions of faith. Send away every voice that does not say what Jesus is saying. Send away the contrary voices.
Something new was about to be birthed, and Jesus began by sending away the voices that did not believe in the new. Jesus began by sending away the voices that did not speak in line with the new. Jesus sent away the voices that promoted the old but disdained the new. If they do not speak the new, send them away. If they disdain your prophecy, have nothing to do with them. If they grow your doubt, cut them off.
Notice that Jesus had earlier brought in Peter, James and John. Jesus brought in people who believed in Him, and He sent away those who didn’t believe. He introduced the positive and sent away the negative. When it is time to deliver on your mandate, be intentional to bring in what is positive, whilst also blocking and removing what is negative. Do away with what is not needed, but bring in what is needed.
Welcome to that season where heaven expects you to bring in the positive and remove or block the negative.
Welcome to that season where you must be intentional to determine those who will either remain or leave.
Songs of Solomon 2: 15 says: “Take us the foxes, the little foxes, that spoil the vines: for our vines have tender grapes.”
DECLARATION: I remove the negative, and I bring in the positive, in Jesus’ name!
