Streams of Joy 19th May 2025 Devotional (Monday) Message

SCRIPTURE READING: Judges 16: 1-31
MEMORY VERSE
“The hand of the diligent shall bear rule: but the slothful shall be under tribute.” (Proverbs 12: 24)
FOCUS VERSE: “That he told her all his heart, and said unto her, There hath not come a razor upon mine head; for I have been a Nazarite unto God from my mother’s womb: if I be shaven, then my strength will go from me, and I shall become weak, and be like any other man.” (Judges 16: 17)
In our Focal Scripture, Samson told Delilah the details of his consecration, and he disclosed that if ever the seven locks on his head were to be shaven, he would be like any other man. By Samson’s disclosure, his consecration was the reason why he was not like any other man. By his disclosure, adherence to the instructions God gave concerning his life was the reason why he had not become as ordinary as other men.
Friend, in all your becoming, never accept to become like every other man. Never accept to become as ordinary as everyone else around you. Never accept the ordinary life. Never accept the empty life of being no different from others. Never accept the life of living in a way that does not stand you out from others. Never accept the idea of living in a way that hides you in the crowd. Never accept to be like everyone.
Samson was not like other men; he was a Nazarite unto the Lord from his mother’s womb; even his mother paid the price by not taking strong drink, in order to birth the great life he was to live out; but playing with Delilah was about to make him ordinary. Always discern the people and choices that seek to make you like any other man. Be careful to discern the relationships that seek to reduce your life to an ordinary, empty, irrelevant life.
Samson was not called to be like any other man. He was not called to be ordinary. It may have been okay for others to be ordinary, but he was not to be ordinary. He had a mission to accomplish for heaven. You were not called to be like any other man; you were not called to be ordinary; you were called to lead an impactful life; you were called to leave major marks on the sands of time; you were raised to be different and extraordinary.
Stay on the path that God has ordained for you. Don’t seek to be less than heaven ordained you to be. Don’t seek to be like every other man. Don’t seek to lead an ordinary life. Stay on the path of your mission; stay on the pathway of the greatness ordained for you by God.
DECLARATION:
I disconnect from every ‘Delilah’; I will not be in love with what wants to destroy me, in Jesus’ name!
