Streams of Joy 19th February 2025 Daily Devotional (Wednesday) Message
TOPIC: Needless Opposers
SCRIPTURE READING: Luke 13
“And the ruler of the synagogue answered with indignation, because that Jesus had healed on the sabbath day, and said unto the people, There are six days in which men ought to work: in them therefore come and be healed, and not on the sabbath day.” (Luke 13: 14)
When Jesus healed and restored the woman who had been afflicted by the spirit of infirmity for eighteen years, the ruler of the synagogue answered with indignation, because Jesus healed someone on the Sabbath day. The ruler of the synagogue was offended by the fact that someone got healed on the Sabbath. He was infuriated by the fact that something good came to that woman on the Sabbath.
Friend, if you will be a recipient of the mighty deeds of El Roi, then you just might need to get ready for people who will be infuriated by your blessings. There will be men who will take offence at your miracle. Some people will be filled with indignation because God chose to show you mercy instead of judgement. Some people will arise to oppose you, not because you really offended them, but because God’s mercy on you offends them.
Don’t be entirely surprised when the favour of God on your life seems to attract more enemies than friends to you. Don’t be embarrassed when people who used to be your supporters suddenly become haters because of what God did for you. Don’t feel embarrassed when the same people who acted normal while you suffered start to act offended when your story changes. Don’t be embarrassed when needless opposers arise.
Notice that Jesus had already healed the woman who was afflicted, before the ruler of the synagogue began his protest. So, the opposition did not stop what God wanted to do for the woman. Hear me as I hear the Lord: your opposers will not stop what God is bringing your way. Your opposers will not turn back the hand of El Roi in your life. Your opposers will not shut the doors of your new season against you with their opposition.
Don’t lose sleep because of those who have chosen to oppose the works of God in your life. If God be for you, no opposer will hinder your miracle.
Psalm 86: 17 (CEV) says: “Show that you approve of me! Then my hateful enemies will feel like fools, because you have helped and comforted me.”
DECLARATION: No opposer will stop the works of God in my life, in Jesus’ name!
