Streams of Joy 17th May 2025 Devotional (Saturday) Message
TOPIC: Household Enemies
SCRIPTURE READING: Judges 16: 1-31
MEMORY VERSE
“Yea, mine own familiar friend, in whom I trusted, which did eat of my bread, hath lifted up his heel against me.” (Psalm 41: 9)
FOCUS VERSE:
“Now there were men lying in wait, abiding with her in the chamber. And she said unto him, The Philistines be upon thee, Samson. And he brake the withs, as a thread of tow is broken when it toucheth the fire. So his strength was not known.” (Judges 16: 9)
Our Focal Scripture makes mention of how there were men lying in wait with Delilah in the chamber. There were men in the house with Delilah, waiting for a chance to get a grip on Samson. The people who wanted to waste the destiny of Samson, were in the same house with him. The people who wanted to put him in bondage and reduce his destiny, were in the same house with him. Samson was surrounded by household enemies.
Friend, hear me as I hear the Lord: if there be household enemies waiting to reduce and extinguish your destiny, I decree, let the fire of God go against them. Let the fire of God arise against the men who are plotting against you from close quarters. Let the fire of God arise and burn every enemy that is using their access to you to fight you. Let the Lord arise and extinguish those who are trying to extinguish you while smiling with you.
Samson was focused on Delilah, but there were other men focused on him and seeking a chance to waste his destiny as soon as they could. They comported themselves while waiting for a chance to get at Samson. Hear me as I hear the Lord: every man that is hiding within your chambers, seeking a chance to hit you hard, I decree, let the Lord arise against them and expose them. Let the Lord arise against every household wickedness.
The men in the house with Samson were not really his friends. They were only seeking a moment of weakness so that they could subdue him. Household enemies simply look out for your weak moment so that they can use it against you. They are positioned to use your weakness against you. Any man who is standing by, waiting to use your weakness against you, I decree, let the Lord arise and expose them on your behalf.
You were not saved by Jesus, only to be exposed to wickedness in close quarters. As surely as the Lord lives, every household wickedness is exposed and destroyed by the power of God.
DECLARATION:
I will not be afflicted by the enemy, in Jesus’ name!
