Streams of Joy 11th March 2025 Devotional (Tuesday) Message
TOPIC: Stay In God’s Presence
TODAY’S SCRIPTURE: Luke 1
“And the angel answering said unto him, I am Gabriel, that stand in the presence of God; and am sent to speak unto thee, and to shew thee these glad tidings.” (Luke 1: 19)
In our Focal Scripture, the Angel of the Lord introduced himself as Gabriel that stands in the presence of the Lord. As opposed to Zachariah who only came to serve in the temple when it was his turn to serve, Gabriel stayed in the presence of God and communed with God to the extent of being sent to deliver glad tidings. Zachariah was basically a visitor in the presence of God, but Gabriel dwelt in the same presence of God.
Friend, in all your doings, dwell in the presence of the Lord. Spend time intentionally with God. Be intentional in your devotion to God. Be intentional with your prayer life. Be intentional to spend time searching the scriptures. Be intentional to seek divine encounters with God. Be intentional to spend quality time with God on a regular. No matter how busy your schedule becomes, make time to be with God.
It was Gabriel who stood in the presence of God that was mandated to announce the good news that was about to come the way of Zachariah and Elizabeth. The one who stayed in the presence of God was the one mandated to announce a new season for Zachariah and his wife. Men who dwell in the presence of God are men who have the mandate of heaven to change times and seasons.
A man who was a visitor in the presence of God, watched the word of the Lord come to pass; but the one who dwelt in the presence of God decreed the word of the Lord into being. The one who visited the presence of God could only receive the fulfillment of the word of the Lord that came through one who dwelt in the presence of the Lord. If you fail to dwell in God’s presence, you will be dependent on those who dwell.
This is not the season when you will merely visit the presence of God. This is the time to dwell in His presence. If El Roi lives in you, then dwell in His presence.
Acts 17: 28 says: “For in him we live, and move, and have our being; as certain also of your own poets have said, For we are also his offspring.”
DECLARATION: I choose to relish the presence of God; I will not be a visitor in His presence, in Jesus’ name!
