SCRIPTURE: Is any sick among you? let him call for the elders of the church; and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord: And the prayer of faith shall save the sick, and the Lord shall raise him up; and if he have committed sins, they shall be forgiven him. James 5:14-15
THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: The devil does not fear your face; he fears your light.
Scriptures confirm that the Spirit of God transmits healing power through the Anointing oil. It is a mystery that God instituted from the Bible for the healing and deliverance of people. Mark 6:7-13 confirms that the oil is not a suggestion of man; it is an empowerment by the Master.
I saw the mystery of the anointing oil for the first time when I was a 5th year Medical Student. My classmate had peptic ulcer disease. We were in medical school teaching hospital. He had taken the highest level of anti-ulcer drugs. He was on Ranitidine and all manner of drugs, but there was no improvement. The next level was for him to go for a surgery called vagotomy to transect the vagus nerve.
One day, I came to the room and this brother, a mature young man was in tears with his hand on the tummy. I said, “The Bible says, if anyone is sick, he should call for the elders of the Church, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord, and he shall be healed. I stand here as an elder representing the elders of the Church, I do not need to look for them. With anger, anointing him with oil, I commanded that devil, ‘get out!’ With the speed of light, the pain took off. He jumped up, shouted, “I am healed! I cannot feel any pain anymore”. From that day till eternity, the ulcer disappeared. Then I realized that what God said concerning the oil is real.
Beloved, do not just carry the anointing oil bottle carelessly. Let a revelation back your action. Revelation determines reality. What you know determines what you show. Things happen by the revelation with which you operate. The devil does not fear your face; he fears your light. He does not just fear the bottle of anointing oil; he fears the light in the one carrying it; he fears the revelation in the heart of the holder.

PRAYER: Lord, open my eyes to the light that will fuel my results as I use the anointing oil. Let every yoke around my life be destroyed by the Anointing, Lord in Jesus’ Name.
