TOPIC: Following the Path of Diligence
SCRIPTURE: Wherefore the rather, brethren, give diligence to make your calling and election sure: for if ye do these things, ye shall never fall: 2 Peter 1:10.
THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: You cannot arrive at greatness if you neglect the pathway of diligence.
It has been confirmed that diligence or hard work is a major pathway to greatness. You cannot arrive at greatness if you neglect the pathway of diligence.
Many years ago, as a young medical doctor, I was consulting in three different places in a day. I consulted in one place in the morning, another place in the afternoon and, yet another place at night.
After the night consultation, I would use my car as taxi (kabu-kabu), in the town of Jos, Plateau State, Nigeria, in order to further engage myself.
As I carried passengers from one place to the other, I would be praying in the spirit while on the steering wheel. I would be reading the Bible, leading people to Christ, and casting out devils while talking to people at the consultation desk. In fact, I would fire in tongues for one to three hours in the morning before stepping out.
Beloved, you can come to a point where you are too restless to be arrested by the devil. You are just too restless. It is when you sit in one place that the devil can tie you down. Refuse to be tied down.
Someone may just sit down and tell himself, “I am a degree holder. I cannot be a cab driver. How can I be picking and dropping people with a cab?” That is pride. Such a person cannot go far in life.
By the grace of God, I drove a cab and carried passengers as a qualified medical doctor in order to further engage myself, not because I was jobless. I worked in three different places and still used my car for cab service. That was my pathway to greatness. The question is, am I doing that cab service today? No!
So, to neglect the pathway of diligence is to forfeit the destination of greatness.
Remember this: You cannot arrive at greatness if you neglect the pathway of diligence.
ASSIGNMENTS:
- Refuse to be indolent or idle.
- Weary the devil by restless and diligent work.
PRAYER: Thank You Lord for showing me diligence as the pathway greatness. I receive the grace for weariless and restless work, Lord, in Jesus’ Name.
