SCRIPTURE: For the thing which I greatly feared is come upon me, and that which I was afraid of is come unto me. – Job 3:25.
THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: Fear is the magnet of disaster.
Our anchor scripture reveals that fear is one of the greatest enemies of a person’s life and destiny. Job was a great man in his days; he was a major voice in his generation, but when he entertained fear, he was afflicted and grounded.
Fear is the magnet of disaster (Job 3:25-26). And fear is also the eternal enemy of faith. Faith and fear cannot co-exist. Fear is absent where faith is present and vice versa.
The devil fears those who don’t fear him and preys on those who fear him.
We once made a trip to East Africa and decided to visit the wildlife park. While in a vehicle, we saw lions moving everywhere.
Eventually, we came to a particular place and the tour guide said, “This place is safe, you can come out here.” And we came out. But while looking around, I said within me, “I am a man of faith but not a man of foolishness.” so I asked the tour guide, “If a lion appeared suddenly now, what should we do?” He said, “You can either stand still and behave like nothing is happening or lie down flat without shaking. The lion will come and pass. But if you shake or express any trace of fear, the lion will confirm you as food and tear you to pieces.”
And surprisingly, while we were going, I saw a group of people called the Maasai tribe, moving freely among lions and the lions were not pursuing them. So, I asked the tour guide about them, and he said that the lions are afraid of the Maasai tribe. I asked why? He said they kill lions. He said that before a teenage Maasai boy is accepted into the masculine club as an adult, he would have to go and bring the head of a lion. He further said that no father would give his daughter to a Maasai young man until he brings the head of a lion to confirm that he is a man.
Beloved, as it is in the physical, so it is in the spiritual because the devil is also a roaring lion. The essence of that story is to reveal to you the possibility of terrorising what terrorises others when faith is intact and fear is absent. Let that picture be in your mind that you can come to the point where what others run from run from you.
Beloved, refuse and resist fear absolutely. Avoid information that injects fear into your life. Refuse to believe the lies of the devil and never allow the enemy to go un-replied.
Remember this: Fear is the magnet of disaster.
