SCRIPTURE: Behold, his soul which is lifted up is not upright in him: but the just shall live by his faith. Habakkuk 2:4.
THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: Your victory is at the mercy of your faith.
One of the greatest assets of a child of God is faith. If you must live a victorious life on earth, upholding strong faith is a non-negotiable requirement.
Faith is not just a church doctrine. Neither is it a tool with which we get things from God; It is not just a symbol of spiritual attainment or superiority. Faith is also not just the exclusive preserve of a select few; it is a vital necessity for life for every believer.
Today, we shall be looking at what makes faith such a crucial necessity.
1. Our lives and existence on earth are dependent on our faith. If faith is out of place, life is in jeopardy because the just shall live by their faith (Hebrews 2:4).
2. We stay saved by faith. It is easy to lose salvation when faith in God is lost. Those who call themselves atheists claim to believe in nothing. (Ephesians 2:8-9).
3. Faith is necessary for victory in the conflicts of life. To defeat the devil, you need faith. If you don’t want the devil to make you a victim, and if you don’t want to end as a casualty in the battles of life, you need faith. Your victory is at the mercy of your faith. There is no demilitarized zone in life. The battles of life are permanently on everywhere, whether you are interested or not. Your interest is not needed.
Psalm 69:4 confirms the enormity of battles on earth; it says, They that hate me without a cause are more than the hairs of mine head: they that would destroy me, being mine enemies wrongfully, are mighty: then I restored that which I took not away. That is, “I didn’t do anything, but they hate me. And they are more than the hairs of my head” (Psalm 69:4 Paraphrased). There are people who hate you for no reason. You look fine, you are hated. You look ugly, you are still hated. You don’t subscribe to the way they do things; you are hated.
4. Faith is necessary for health and wholeness. Luke 17:19 says, …thy faith hath made thee whole. So, faith is necessary for your health and your wholeness.
5. Faith is necessary for accessing our inheritance and promises in God. If you don’t want your Christian life to end in mockery, faith in God is needed. It is faith that will make your life to reflect the God in you.
Remember This: Your victory is at the mercy of your faith.
ASSIGNMENT(S):
1. Ensure that at least a verse of the scripture enters your spirit daily.
2. Ask God for the impartation of the Spirit of faith.
3. Listen to messages on Faith preached on this altar, to build and deploy faith for a victorious life.
PRAYER: Lord, I receive the grace to grow my faith daily. I access the profits of faith as I journey through this life, Lord, in Jesus’ Name.
