TOPIC: Dealing with Depression
SCRIPTURE: To appoint unto them that mourn in Zion, to give unto them beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness; that they might be called trees of righteousness, the planting of the Lord, that he might be glorified. Isaiah 61:3

Today’s Seeds of Destiny 20th October 2020 Devotional Message
Having looked at the dangers of depression in our previous studies, it is very important to make the choice against depression.
Today, we shall be looking at what it takes to deal with the spirit of depression.
1. Fight depression.
Fight the spirit of depression. It is called the spirit of heaviness (Isaiah 61:3). Fight it.
2. Make the choice to enjoy your life (Isaiah 61:3).
You have one life to live. So, make the choice to enjoy it. Make the choice to enjoy your life with or without a husband yet; with or without a child yet; with or without a job yet. Take note of the word “yet” because your expectation shall surely come to pass. This means, enjoy your life while waiting for what God is yet to do for you.
3. Watch your environment.
If you don’t want to be depressed, watch your environment. There are some pictures around you that you will have to remove. There is a neighbour you may need to avoid or a house that you may have to move out of. You may be squatting with someone in a very decent house or duplex but it is a depressive duplex, something like a house of depression. Move out of that house. It is better to live in one room in a boys’ quarter where you have peace of mind than to live in a duplex where you are depressed.
Beloved, watch your company. Watch your environment. I see you succeeding in Jesus’ Name!
Remember this: You have one life to live. So, make the choice to enjoy it.
ASSIGNMENTS:

2. Make up your mind to enjoy your life.
3. Disconnect from every depressive association and material around.
PRAYER: Thank You Lord for showing me the way out of depression. I receive Your grace to fight depression, make the choice for joy and disconnect from every depressive association, Lord, in Jesus’ Name.
