Seeds of Destiny 17th July 2026 Friday Daily Devotional Message.
TOPIC: QUALIFICATIONS FOR DIVINE WISDOM.
SCRIPTURE: The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom: and the knowledge of the holy is understanding. Proverbs 9:10
THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: The fear of the Lord and the life of humility are vital qualifications for accessing divine wisdom.
Divine wisdom is critical for successful living and destiny fulfilment.
Wisdom is profitable to direct the affairs of life. That is why no one can live profitably, meaningfully, and successfully without wisdom.
The question then is, what are the qualifications, conditions or factors that facilitate access to divine wisdom?
1. The fear of the Lord (Job 28:28).
No one enters the school of wisdom until they have the entry qualification of the fear of the Lord. The fear of the Lord is the entry qualification into the realm of divine wisdom.
Show me a person who truly fears God, and I will show you someone who is walking in divine wisdom.
Now, what are the impacts of the fear of the Lord?
a. The fear of the Lord equals the possession of a healthy and lively conscience.
A person who fears God possesses a conscience that is alive, healthy, and sensitive. It is crucial to understand that it is possible to come to church and still have a dead conscience. It is even possible to be a pastor and still possess a conscience that is no longer alive.
The easiest way to kill the conscience is by repeatedly doing wrong and continuously excusing it until the conscience no longer reacts.
A healthy conscience is proof of a healthy spirit (Acts 24:16).
b. The fear of the Lord equals the hatred of evil (Proverbs 8:13)
A genuine child of God cannot comfortably tolerate evil. For example, if you witness corruption, bribery, oppression, immorality or injustice, something inside you should reject and react against it. You may not always be in a position to stop evil, but your heart should never become comfortable with it. So, the fear of the Lord keeps the conscience alive. It keeps the spirit healthy and aligns a person with God, thereby making divine wisdom accessible.
2. The life of humility.
When Solomon received wisdom from God, humility was at the background of it. In 1 Kings 3:7, Solomon said, …I am but a little child: I know not how to go out or come in. That was humility.
Humility is the absence of exaggerated sense of self-estimation. Humility is the recognition of one’s limitations and dependence on God. Humility admits: “I need help. I do not know enough. I cannot do this by myself.”
The absence of humility on the other hand brings disconnection and resistance from God. James 4:6 says, But he giveth more grace. Wherefore he saith, God resisteth the proud, but giveth grace unto the humble. And if a person is disconnected from God, it becomes impossible for them to access what only God can give, including wisdom. Humility also gives access to grace and grace represents everything made available for us through the death of Jesus Christ (John 1:17).
Beloved, humility keeps a person connected to God, and connection with God guarantees access to wisdom.
REMEMBER THIS: The fear of the Lord and the life of humility are vital qualifications for accessing divine wisdom.
ASSIGNMENT(S):
1. Maintain a healthy and lively conscience before God.
2. Refuse pride and embrace genuine humility.
3. Ask God in prayer for the spirit of wisdom.
PRAYER: Father, thank You for Your Word to me today. I receive the grace to walk in the fear of the Lord and in genuine humility. Impart me with the spirit of wisdom, Lord, in Jesus’ Name.
