Topic: Function – The Cure For Affliction
SCRIPTURE: “By much slothfulness the building decayeth; and through idleness of the hands the house droppeth through” Ecclesiastics 10:18.

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: A life that is dynamic is a life that is energetic. A life not fully engaged rapidly degenerates and dilapidates.
MESSAGE: Function in this context simply means, a task, and to function is to be in action; to carry on a function or to be actively engaged in doing something.
It is important to know that the building referred to in our anchor Scripture represents our body. This is confirmed in 1 Corinthians 6:19a that says ‘know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost…’ By implication, when the body lacks a function or work to do, it is prone to affliction. Our body was designed to be active and not to be idle. It was designed by God to be functional and not for fashion. That is to say you do not exist for fashion, but you exist to function. Therefore, any life that is not dynamic becomes problematic’
Dynamism is necessary for the vitality of life. A life that is dynamic is a life that is energetic. And a life not fully engaged rapidly degenerates and dilapidates.
This is why when some people retire from active service in government, after a short while; they begin to look older than their ages. Others begin to complain of all manner of sicknesses, ranging from hypertension to stroke because their physical bodies have not been actively engaged for some time.
Beloved, anything that expels you from function has exposed you to affliction. Never be comfortable with idleness because idleness attracts affliction to the body.
But that shall not be your portion in Jesus’ Name.
REMEMBER THIS: A life that is dynamic is a life that is energetic. And a life not fully engaged rapidly degenerates and dilapidates.
ASSIGNMENT(S):
1. Keep off from anything or anybody that wants to keep you from function
2. Determine to be fully and actively engaged.
