Nahum 3:1-7
Meditation Questions
► Is there any bad example for me to avoid or warning for me to heed?
► Is there any prayer for me to remember?
Back in the 80’s and early 90’s in most parts of Africa, if not all, one could spread a mat on the pavement outside the house and sleep off until late in the night when one would be woken up by cold. Crime and violence have eaten deep today, that some people are even afraid while locked inside the house.
Read Nahum 3:1-4 again and write down what you notice about Nineveh. Some individuals (or Nations) are full of lies, robbery, sorcery and all manner of wickedness. Is this true of you or your nation/community in our time today? Remember to pray for God’s righteousness to take over our lives and land. Righteousness indeed exalts a nation, but sin is a reproach to any people (Proverb 14:34).
From Nahum 3:5-7 what was God’s response to the city of Nineveh? If God is against you (or a nation), who can be for you (or that nation)? It is better and more rewarding to be on the Lord’s side.
Thought
Full of sin or righteousness
Closing Prayer
