Scripture Union Daily Guide July 9, 2023 MESSAGE:
After breaking the tablets of the commandments which Moses initially received from the Lord on Mount Sinai, God commanded him to come up to the mountain for a replacement, (vs.1-2). Notice the conditions Moses must meet before coming up to meet with the Lord (vs.1-3). He is to chisel out and come up with new stone tablets for God to rewrite the laws. When meeting with God in His Word, we must come with a clean heart (spirit), on which God will inscribe His word. Unconfessed sin is a hindrance (Isaiah 59:2). The place of meeting with God should be quiet, preferably early in the morning (v.4; Mark 1:35), free from any distractions.
Read vs.5-17 again and enumerate various personal encounters Moses had when he met God on Mount Sinai. God descended in a pillar of cloud to pass covenant instructions to him. Alone with God is a place of awesomeness. It is a place for receiving revelations and insights and instructions from God for our daily living (our roles and God’s roles). It is a privileged place of pouring our hearts to God. It is a place of deepening our knowledge of God for growth and maturity.
And So: Secret of abiding and growing in Christ is at the place of personal altar; alone with God. There, we receive insights and covenant instructions.

MY GOD, THE COVENANT OF THY LOVE
1. My God, the covenant of Thy love
Abides for ever sure,
And in its matchless grace I feel
My happiness secure.
2. What though my house be not with Thee
As nature could desire?
To nobler joys, than nature gives,
Thy servants all aspire.
3. Since Thou, the everlasting God,
My Father art become;
Jesus, my guardian, and my friend,
And Heav’n my final home.
4. I welcome all Thy sovereign will,
For all that will is love:
And, when I know not what Thou dost,
I wait the light above.
5. Thy covenant in the darkest gloom
Shall heav’nly rays impart,
Which, when my eyelids close in death,
Shall warm my chilling heart.
CLOSING PRAYER
Help me, Lord, to create a place and time of meeting with you each day.
Offer a prayer of faith in line with Psalms 10:14

► The hand of Lord to rest mightily upon our lives, for divine acceleration in every area of our lives ► Grace and wisdom to manage our time and resources.
► Help to be focused on our set objectives and not be distracted.
► Grace for us to always be positive in our thinking.
PRAY AGAINST:
Every power set to limit or hinder us from achieving our goals.
