TODAY’S SCRIPTURE: Numbers 17:1-13
QUESTIONS FOR REFLECTION
â–º Q 1: What does the passage teach about God the Father, or God the Son or God the Holy Spirit?
â–º Q7: What truth is God revealing to me in this passage?
The one God has chosen for His work does not need to campaign for recognition. It is God who confirms His choice by His own action. Even though Aaron had faced lots of challenges, he did not lodge any complaint with God. It was God who decided to take action to defend His servant and silence His critics (Numbers 17:1-5).
Are you likewise certain that God has chosen you to do the work you are doing, and you have not manoeuvred your way into it? Then be assured that the Lord will confirm and defend His choice. Read Numbers 17:8-13 again and note how God made it abundantly clear that Aaron was His choice. He not only brought death to some of his opponents but gave life to Aaron’s rod.
The dead rod produced beauty and fruits. Spiritual leadership chosen by God will be recognized by its life and fruitfulness. Remember also, that God is still doing the impossible: making the dry, fruitless life to “bud, blossom, and bear fruit”. See John 15:5 and take necessary action so that your life may also bear fruit that lasts.
How fruitful are you as a chosen servant of God?
* Any new insight or reinforcement of what you already know?
