Whenever God gives us the opportunity to serve as a leader, we should be more conscious of what we say. Our word carries increased power to influence the people for good or evil. We see how this plays out in the arenas of politics, entertainment, sports, etc. Many people are ready to follow their leaders, even blindly.
Notice how God’s people responded to the report of the ten leaders (Numbers 14:1-4,9-10). They became irrational in their thinking and actions. They forgot so easily their sufferings in Egypt and decided to forsake their pursuit, their calling, their dedicated leaders, Moses and Aaron, and their God. They would rather go back to Egypt, into slavery. Have we also been tempted to forsake the Lord and our calling and go back into the world just because we are facing some challenges? The world has nothing to offer us but slavery to sin and death.
See how Joshua and Caleb encouraged the people (Numbers 14:7-8). They focussed on the good land, expressed their faith in God, and gave two warnings (Numbers 14:9). The God of love then appeared but now, for judgment (Numbers 14:10-12).
When I remember what the Lord has done, Oh no, Satan, I will never go back anymore.

* Visionary leadership and his wisdom upon the Chairmen to handle the challenges associated with the work
PRAY FOR:
* The Okitipupa, Ekiti and Akure Area Chairmen for total dependence on the Holy Spirit for direction to move the work forward and grace for more commitment. • God’s empowerment for greater impact of their leadership on the brethren for growth and more involvement in the work • Financial provisions to pay staff salaries, run the Area programs and execute projects. • Good health, prosperity for them and their families.
