Scripture Union Daily Guide 31st December 2023 Message:
If we spend time to reflect on God’s goodness to us, our lives will flow with praises to Him always. The Psalmist stressed here that this is the right thing to do. Notice also the following from the passage:
* We should pay our vows when God answers our prayers.
* When our sins overwhelm us, only God can forgive us.
* Those God chooses to come and live in His tent are blessed.
* They are filled with the good things of God’s house.
* God’s answer to prayer is awesome!
What else does he declare about God in vs.5-13?
God expects us to praise Him, not only with our words and songs, but also with our whole being (Psalm 103:1; Romans 12:1). Just stop and consider some of these:
•The journey mercies we enjoy on our many trips.
•The times and seasons of the year that made the harvests possible.
•Rich pastures for the flocks.
God’s goodness should elicit ceaseless praises from us.
Practice/Word Application
And So: Often we fail to meditate on the Lord’s faithfulness to us. Take time to reflect on the great things He has done for you this year and respond to Him in abundant praise and thanksgiving.
