Scripture Union Daily Guide – 30 December 2025 | OUTLINE
Psalms 106:24-27 – the psalmist recalls the incident in Numbers 13 when Israel refused to enter the Promised Land for fear of the giants and instead, complained and grumbled against God. This made God to vow that they will all die in the wilderness. We are free to obey or disobey God but we cannot be free from the consequences of our choices.
God had told them what to do to the Canaanites when they entered the Promised Land (Exodus 34:11-16). What did they do instead and what were the consequences (Psalms 106:34-43)? Every disobedience attracts God’s judgment! If we reject God’s word, we will surely face His punishment.
Read Psalms 106:28-31 again. How does the action of Phinehas challenge us in standing for God in times of moral and spiritual decline? (See Numbers 25). No matter how bad things become, God will always find someone to stand for Him. Will that be you (Ezekiel 22:30)? What encouragement is there for us in Psalms 106:44-46?
We serve a compassionate God. He does not punish to destroy but to transform. If we repent and seek His face, He will hear and restore our lives and land (Psalms 106:47). What can we learn as leaders from Psalms 106:32-33?
