OPENING PRAYER: Oh Lord, grant me spiritual insight into the truth of your word as I study it.

SCRIPTURE: Revelation 7:1‐17

Scripture Union Daily Guide 28 August 2022 MESSAGE

Revelation 7 reads like a fresh breathing space, after the terrible events that follows the opening of the first six seals. It’s about the seal and the salvation of God’s people – Hallelujah! Remember the response of everyone ‐ kings, rulers, generals etc, when the Lamb breaks the sixth seal (6:12‐17). In the midst of this hopeless situation, another angel comes with the good news “don’t harm until we have placed the seal of God on the foreheads of his servants” (v.3) – Hallelujah!

The salvation seal of Christ today (Ephesians 1:13‐14), will guarantee your salvation! No Christ, no seal; no seal, no salvation! Are you assured of your salvation? We should not be worried about the different denominational interpretations on the two groups in this passage. What is important to note is that the first is “sealed on earth” (vs.1‐3), the second is “standing in front of the throne and before the Lamb” (v.9), and sing “Salvation comes from our God” (v.10)

The blood of the Lamb is the only detergent that washes our robes white so we can stand in front of God’s throne and serve Him (vs.14‐15)! There could be no better news or hope for “every nation, tribe, people and language” (v.9)!

• Meditate prayerfully on the words of the song, “Have you been to Jesus for the cleansing power? Are you washed in the blood of the Lamb? Are your garments spotless? Are they white as snow? Are you washed in the blood of the Lamb?”

Offer a prayer of faith in line with Psalms 62:5 ‐ 7

☀ The grace of God that keeps helping us to go on in Him despite the trials of life.
☀ The eternal life given to us as long as we continue to follow the Lord without looking back.

PRAY FOR:
☛ Grace to continue to believe and obey the Lord in all things, so we do not give the devil any chance.
☛ Humility to continue to submit to the washing, regeneration and renewal of life by the Holy Spirit as we die daily.
☛ Discipline to keep our live free from things that defile and contaminate God’ s supply and dealing daily

PRAY AGAINST:
⚠ Grieving the Holy Spirit of God thereby removing the seal of God over our lives for redemption.
⚠ Fear due to what we hear and see daily happening in the world.
