Scripture Union Daily Guide 27 May 2022 MESSAGE
What exactly is the Master saying in vs.1&2? Offences must come, but we must be careful not to be habitual objects of offence. Read vs.3‐4 and state in your notebook the virtue the Lord is trying to teach His disciples? Note also their request in v.5 and the Master’s response in v.6. In Ephesians 4:2 (NLT), we are admonished to “make allowance for each other’s faults”.
We certainly need faith to meet the stricter demands of the love Jesus exemplifies. For you to rebuke a brother as stated in v.3, be sure you are doing so in love and with the intent of restoration. From vs.7‐10, what in your own word is our Lord trying to inculcate in the disciples? Do you see sacrificial, cheerful service? What is your attitude to the assignments your Church or Fellowship gives you? Vs.11‐19: the Master healed 10 lepers and only one (a Samaritan) returned to thank Him.
How often we take God’s graces in our lives for granted! While God is not forcing us to thank Him for His blessings, we must note that gratitude begets more grace (Psalm 50:22‐23). Note also the faith and obedience exhibited by these lepers. They proceeded to show themselves to a priest while they were not yet healed. On the way the Master healed them. Faith in action!

NATIONAL CHILDREN’S DAY: NOT WITHOUT OUR CHILDREN
Train up a child in the way he should go; even when he is old, he will not depart from it. Proverbs 22:6
THANK GOD FOR:
› Calling us in SU to work with children and to raise them under God.
› The word of God that enables us train and parent the children in wisdom and understanding.
PRAY FOR:
› More SU pilgrims to be involved in children work so we might show these children the love of God and the discipline they need for spiritual growth.
› Grace to diligently provide the needed direction to the right path at home, in the neighbourhood club, in the church and in the fellowship.
› The peace of our children as they are taught by the Lord.
› Repentance of our children before they get destroyed.
PRAY AGAINST:
∷ Our children forsaking the instructions they were given by following bad friends.
∷ Not doing or teaching them diligently and letting them grow unguided.
