Topic: God’s Justice On Display

Opening Prayer: Dear Lord, grant me understanding and illumination as I ponder on your word in Jesus name.

Scripture: Ezekiel 39:17‐29

Question(s) for Reflection
• What does the passage teach about God the Father, or God the Son or God the Holy Spirit?
• Is there any promise for me to believe or hope for?

Scripture Union Daily Guide 23 January 2022 Outline

The slain bodies of the great and mighty on the mountains and open fields of Israel will provide a banquet for the wild animals and birds, until such a time that Israel completes burying the corpses and bones (vs. 17‐19).

From vs.21‐24, notice again the purpose of all these horrific incidences on both the enemies of God and Israel. At the end of it all, God’s glory will be recognized by all. It would be God’s justice on display – punishment for all evil men. The distinct message from this for us is that God is just and will punish all sin, hence the need for righteous living. How does this relate to your personal life? Are you seeking to work in the fear and knowledge of the Lord?

In vs.25‐28, God promises to restore the fortunes of His people Israel and show to them and the world that He indeed is God. How will He do this? Whether these promises are for the nation of Israel, or for all believers (the spiritual Israel), God has promised that He will no longer hide His face from His people and He will pour His Spirit upon them (v.29). PRAYER FOCUS
SECURED IN CHRIST
And you will feel secured because there is hope; you will look around and take your rest in security. Job 11:8

THANK GOD FOR:
Being our security, who has promised to help and uphold us with His righteous right hand.

His assurance to give us peace within our walls and security within our towers.

PRAY FOR:
• Perfect love that casts out fear as we continue daily to trust our God. • God to open our eyes to see that those who are for us are more than those against us. • Increased faith to believe that our God has not and cannot change. Hence what He did before, He can still do again.

PRAY AGAINST:
∷ Every spirit of feeling abandoned or rejected knowing God has promised neither to leave or forget to keep us. ∷ Every spirit of insecurity or feeling inadequate due to our experiences in life and happenings in our country.
