TOPIC: The Mustard Seed and the Leaven
Opening Prayer: Dear Lord, expose me to your truth as I read your word in Jesus name.
Scripture: Matthew 13:31-35
Question(s) for Reflection
• What is God revealing to me in this passage?
In these verses, we see the Kingdom of God likened to a mustard seed and leaven or yeast. These two items have one thing in common; they are both small but can tremendously grow to enormous size or swell their host greatly. This illustration stands to inform us that however small the things of God may appear, there is greatness hidden within them. As believers, being part of God’s Kingdom; we too have great potentials instilled in us by God. But just like the process that lead to the results mentioned in v.32; we need to recognize that one godly man can change the society in which he lives if he stays focused and committed as the leaven that remains faithful to its mission. We have been positioned and planted where we are to work like kingdom leaven and influence the world for God. We are called to grow and multiply and bear much more fruit and impact all those around us. Also read: Genesis 1:28; John 15:5

• However weak I may appear to be, help me, Lord Jesus, to be strong and courageous and impact the lives of the multitude around me as I live for your Kingdom. • Pray for political leaders to know that power belongs to God and, therefore, be willing to work for and uphold free and fair electoral processes and systems.
