OPENING PRAYER: My dear heavenly Father, as I study your word, let it be a lamp unto my feet and a light unto my path.

Scripture Union Daily Guide 19th May 2023 MESSAGE:
Yesterday we saw that we need to celebrate and immortalize the ascension of Jesus. We will do well if we emulate what these Israelites did in celebrating their victories as they ascended Mount Zion into the temple to praise their God (vs.24-26). They realized that they were but weaklings as tribes before their enemies (v.27). God made their enemies run from them (v.30). What may we learn from the processions described in these verses about the form and place of public worship in the Church?
These people had an overwhelming sense of God’s presence and defence (v.28) so that God’s awesomeness and power becomes evident to them, and they realize that this great power is available to them as children of an awesome God (vs.34,35). They feel compelled to encourage each other and call upon the world to praise and worship God (v.32). How do you praise God?

Meditation: What do you need to thank God for now?
Take your notebook, list the things that God has done for you this year, and take time to thank Him for His protection.

► Using our Regional Chairman and the Regional Committee to achieve God’s purposes in Okigwe Region.
► Making the creation of a new Region out of Okigwe Region a reality.
PRAY FOR:
► The projects outlined in the Region to be actualized this year.
► God’s security over the camp of faith Okigwe and those of the staff working there.
► Payment of the pensioners, other workers in the states and the healing of our beloved uncles and mummies who are sick.
PRAY AGAINST:
► All evil activities of evil men on Okigwe road and the environs.
► All closed doors financially, spiritually or otherwise against Okigwe brethren.
