Scripture Union Daily Guide – 21 January 2026 | OUTLINE
Sometimes, God assigns to us some difficult tasks. He commissioned Jeremiah here to deliver a hard message to the king, his officials and the people of Judah. A task like this can be very challenging because of the power of the recipients.
Notice God’s concern for the oppressed, the alien (strangers, refugees and displaced people), orphans, widows and the less-privileged (Jeremiah 22:3) and what He expects from the leaders and the citizens of the land concerning this group of people. Notice His commitment in ensuring that He establishes every leader that seeks the well-being of the less-privileged (Jeremiah 22:4) in obedience to His word, and His severe punishment on any ungodly leader or nation (Jeremiah 22:5-9).
It is a pity that ungodly leaders bring disaster and destruction upon the land (Proverbs 14:34). This massage is equally applicable to our leaders today. But where are the Jeremiahs of our days who will deliver the message to them without fear or favour?

PRAYER FOCUS
REBUILDING CONTINUES
They were all trying to frighten us, thinking, “Their hands will get too weak for the work, and it will not be completed. But I prayed, “Now strengthen my hands’. Neh.6:9
THANK GOD FOR:
•How he dealt with us extensively on this theme last year.
•Opening our eyes to areas where we need to rebuild our broken walls.
PRAY FOR:
•God will help us not to lose sight and not be discouraged as we continue to rebuild- every broken wall.
•God will strengthen our hands.
•The intentions of the enemy over us will not come to pass.
