OPENING PRAYER: Lord, I pray that you lead me into your truth as I meditate on your word in Jesus name.
SCRIPTURE: Exodus 30:17 – 38

Instructions were clearly spelt out to Aaron and his sons concerning their ceremonial washing with water. They cannot just walk carelessly into the presence of God to minister. What can you learn from this about the character of our God and how we should approach Him? Unfortunately, the Pharisees in the New Testament mistook this instruction as a substitute for holiness.
Similarly, God asked Moses to mix the finest spices for the holy anointing oil for the consecration of the priest for the work of God. What does it symbolise for believers today? Many of us have also mistaken this instruction. Can you cite examples? The anointing oil is a symbol of the Holy Spirit. He equips believers for the service of the Lord, gives gifts that are appropriate for our assigned ministry (1 Corinthians 12:4-11) and helps us to bear fruit of godly character (Galatians 5:22-23). These are the finest spices that bring glory to God.

THANK GOD FOR:
► The Biblical injunction given to parents to train and raise Godly children who will in turn raise a Godly nation.
► Giving us children both biological and spiritual and the opportunity to mould lives for Jesus.
PRAY FOR:
► Grace to command, discipline and train our children to keep the ways of the Lord.
► Plans and programmes by SU and other Christian Ministries to provide teachings that will emphasize righteousness and Justice.
► Unity in the home especially as it pertains discipline and the training of the children.
PRAY AGAINST:
► Provoking our children to anger by not living up to Godly standards.
► Failing to discipline and instruct them in the way of the Lord.
