Topic: Praise God From The Heart!
Opening Prayer: As I read through this passage dear Lord, let your word bring transformation to my life.
Scripture: Psalm 9:1-10
Question(s) for Reflection
• What does the passage teach about God the Father, God the Son or God the Holy Spirit?
• Is there any promise for me to believe or hope for?
Outline: King David praises God with his whole heart. Praise is the expression of our heart (Hebrews 13:15). It is the fruit of our lips ascribing worth to God. It is a declaration of His wondrous works. It is to esteem Him highly (‘…O Most High’, v.2). Observe how David narrates the different things that the Lord has done for him and the testimony that he gives of the devastating effect that God’s judgment has had on his enemies (vs.3-6).
The Lord fights for His people and it is a good habit to testify to the victories that He has won in the battles that He has fought for us. Read vs.8-10 again. Does that encourage you in the challenges you are facing? He is faithful and will not abandon you. When we think of all that the Lord is doing for us as individuals, families, cities and nations, joyful praises should spring up from our hearts to Him.
