SCRIPTURE: Psalm 31:15‐24
Scripture Union Daily Guide 16 October 2022 Message
Our times are not in the hand of our enemies and they cannot harm us without God’s permission. The Psalmist knew these facts and prayed to God to deliver him from those who persecute him. Do you know that no man can determine your fate (Jeremiah 10:23)?
In view of this knowledge, what did the Psalmist request from God according to vs.16‐18? He acknowledged the greatness and the goodness of God on those who fear and trust in Him (v.19). Notice their reward according to v.20? We should not be hasty to conclude that God has cut us off when it appears He is not responding to our prayers.
Rather than give up or despair, David started to praise God! In vs.21&22, David looked backward, to his previous experiences of God’s deliverance, and forward, to when he would overcome his present situation too. And he had strong, practical advice for all believers, “Love the Lord” and “Be strong and take heart” (v.23,24).
There is no greater counsel in times of distress. Often this is more effective when standing together with other godly people in prayer and encouragement.

BELIEVING GOD FOR MARRIAGE?
But because of the temptation to sexual immorality, each man should have his own wife and each woman her own husband
1Corrintians 7:2
THANK GOD FOR:
☀ Loving us and assuring us that He will guide us and that our lives are secured in Him.
☀ Creating everything good as we receive them with thanksgiving, and this include marriage.
PRAY FOR:
☛ Our brethren who are single and are believing God for husbands or wives
☛ Brethren to follow Christian principles when believing God for a wife or a husband to avoid problem of divorce or regret later
☛ Clear understanding of the road and partner that will glorify God most in their lives.
PRAY AGAINST:
⚠ Increased lawlessness, man‐made programmes and false pairing of brethren we see in some Ministries lately that end in frustration.
⚠ Forcing people to marry against their own will just to satisfy relations or avoid pressures, when they don’t want to.
