Today’s Daily Guide 15 June 2025 Reading By Scripture Union
TOPIC: Set Free from the Burden of Sin
OPENING PRAYER: Dear Lord, expose me to your truth as I read your word in Jesus name.
SCRIPTURE READING – Acts 13:26-41
26 Men and brethren, children of the stock of Abraham, and whosoever among you feareth God, to you is the word of this salvation sent.
27 For they that dwell at Jerusalem, and their rulers, because they knew him not, nor yet the voices of the prophets which are read every sabbath day, they have fulfilled them in condemning him.
28 And though they found no cause of death in him, yet desired they Pilate that he should be slain.
29 And when they had fulfilled all that was written of him, they took him down from the tree, and laid him in a sepulchre.
30 But God raised him from the dead:
31 And he was seen many days of them which came up with him from Galilee to Jerusalem, who are his witnesses unto the people.
32 And we declare unto you glad tidings, how that the promise which was made unto the fathers,
33 God hath fulfilled the same unto us their children, in that he hath raised up Jesus again; as it is also written in the second psalm, Thou art my Son, this day have I begotten thee.
34 And as concerning that he raised him up from the dead, now no more to return to corruption, he said on this wise, I will give you the sure mercies of David.
35 Wherefore he saith also in another psalm, Thou shalt not suffer thine Holy One to see corruption.
36 For David, after he had served his own generation by the will of God, fell on sleep, and was laid unto his fathers, and saw corruption:
37 But he, whom God raised again, saw no corruption.
38 Be it known unto you therefore, men and brethren, that through this man is preached unto you the forgiveness of sins:
39 And by him all that believe are justified from all things, from which ye could not be justified by the law of Moses.
40 Beware therefore, lest that come upon you, which is spoken of in the prophets;
41 Behold, ye despisers, and wonder, and perish: for I work a work in your days, a work which ye shall in no wise believe, though a man declare it unto you.
Question(s) For Meditation:
► Q 1: What does the passage teach about God the Father, or God the Son or God the Holy Spirit?
► Q2: Is there any example for me to follow or not to follow?
Scripture Union Daily Guide 15 June 2025 – OUTLINE
In today’s reading, we witness Paul’s continuation of his message where he unfolds the good news of salvation through Jesus Christ, emphasizing the significance of His life, death, and resurrection. Paul acknowledges the historical context, reminding the audience of their role in rejecting Jesus and having Him crucified, and in so doing, fulfilled the prophecies. However, God’s plan of redemption did not end with Jesus’ death on the cross.
God raised Him from the dead, triumphing over death and offering forgiveness and salvation to all who believe.
Paul’s message speaks to the core of the gospel, revealing the heart of God’s plan for salvation. It reminds us that our works or religious observances cannot earn us salvation. Instead, it is through faith in Jesus Christ, acknowledging His sacrifice on the cross and accepting His gift of forgiveness, that we are set free from the burden of sin and granted eternal life.
As we reflect on this passage, let us take note of the warning in Acts 13:40-41 and be reminded of the incredible grace and mercy extended to us through Jesus’ sacrifice. It is through Him that we have forgiveness of sins and the assurance of salvation.

HYMN: There is power in the blood
1. Would you be free from the burden of sin?
There’s power in the blood, power in the blood;
Would you o’er evil a victory win?
There’s wonderful power in the blood.
Refrain: There is power, power, wonder working power
In the blood of the Lamb;
There is power, power, wonder working power
In the precious blood of the Lamb.
2. Would you be free from your passion and pride?
There’s power in the blood, power in the blood;
Come for a cleansing to Calvary’s tide;
There’s wonderful power in the blood.
3. Would you be whiter, much whiter than snow?
There’s power in the blood, power in the blood;
Sin stains are lost in its life giving flow.
There’s wonderful power in the blood.
4. Would you do service for Jesus your king?
There’s power in the blood, power in the blood;
Would you live daily His praises to sing?
There’s wonderful power in the blood.
