We do not know the reason for this opposition to Paul’s ministry within the church. But in v.2a, notice again the attitude of conciliation which characterizes Paul’s relationships. Similarly, we should learn not to turn every issue into a dispute. Nevertheless, when it becomes a battle for the truth we should be focused and forthright.
Paul is also accused of walking in the flesh, which he skilfully refutes (v.3). What could be the weapons he refers to in vs.4-5? What powers do they have? What could be strongholds in your own life? The world exercises authority through dominance and manipulation.
Observe however, how despite his authority, Paul remains humble (vs.8-9). His words and letters are not empty threats. They correct and discipline his hearers. Likewise, our God-given authority in Christ must serve to edify the body of believers.
Practice/Word Application
And so? We should always be ready to defend the integrity of the gospel. We should not be soft or afraid when conflicts arise in our fellowships. Yet we would not be drawn into personality clashes with all its negative and superficial comparisons.

* Pray for the Education sector that the strike actions that disrupt academic sessions will come to end. • Pray against the falling standard of education, examination malpractices and all ungodliness in the Education sector • Pray that Jesus will reign in all facets of our educational sectors
Offer a prayer of faith in line with Jeremiah 31:4
“Again I will build thee, and thou shalt be built, O virgin of Israel: thou shalt again be adorned with thy tabrets, and shalt go forth in the dances of them that make merry.”

* God will stir the hearts of men unto earnest prayer and effective use of the prayer bulletin
* God will release fresh oil for prayers among brethren.
PRAY AGAINST:
* The spirit that weakens prayer life.
* The attack of the enemy on the prayer alters of believers.
