TOPIC: One Body, Many Parts
OPENING PRAYER: As I read your word O Lord, grant me an insight and grace to do your will in Jesus name.
SCRIPTURE: 1 Corinthians 12:12 – 31

The Church, the body of Christ, is likened to the human body in which all the members have mutual relationship, and each has its proper place and use (vs.12-26). The members are variously gifted for the benefit of the whole body. All believers are filled with the same Spirit (v.13). The fact that the normal healthy body has many diverse parts should inform how we view ourselves and others in God’s church. No one is inferior, and no gift is inferior. We must work in obedience to the Head (Christ) and in cooperation with other believers.
Read vs.24-26 again and note that just as “some part of the body that seem weakest and less important are actually the most necessary”, even so are the individual gifts. Every spiritual gift is beneficial to the body of Christ and has both presentable and unpresentable parts so in the church God has blended the gifted and the less gifted for a purpose. God has arranged them in such a manner that members together create a natural care for one another.
Practice/Word Application
Apply: Do you secretly feel you are superior to some people in your Church/Fellowship because of your spiritual gifts? Or are you secretly jealous of others because of their spiritual gifts? We need to repent!

CLOSING PRAYER
O Lord, help me to avoid unhealthy rivalry but serve in my area of giftings for the common good of your Church.
Offer a prayer of faith in line with Deuteronomy 30:16

►God to visit and revive us afresh
►Strength and clear mandate for the HOD, Children. Pray God to give him potent strategies for driving the work, that our fruits might abound and abide
