Scripture Union Daily Guide 12 June 2026 – OUTLINE
In the story of the lost son (Luke 15:11-32), we saw how God demonstrated his overgenerous love for us. Notice the three ways we should respond if we truly appreciate what he has done for us:
Forgive others as we are forgiven (Luke 17:3-4).Be intentional in forgiving others no matter the degree of the offence and the number of times they commit the offence. Doing that is an appreciation of God’s great forgiveness for us. Take note of Christ’s warning in Mathew 18:21-35.
Be faithful in serving Him (Luke 17:7-8). What does the servant live for? No amount of service is too much to give Christ who redeemed you from sin. We are, indeed, unworthy servants and should thank the Lord for every opportunity He gives us to serve Him.
Maintain a grateful heart (Luke 17:11-19). Note the faith and obedience exhibited by these lepers. They proceeded to show themselves to a priest while they were not yet healed. On the way the Master healed them. Faith in action! We should, however, maintain a grateful heart as this foreigner. While God is not forcing us to thank Him for His blessings, we must note that gratitude begets more grace (Luke 17:19, Psalms 50:22-23).
Closing Prayer
Oh Lord, help me to be vigilant not to be the source of other people’s downfall and to always live a life of gratitude.
