Opening Prayer: Sanctify my life dear Lord as I study your word in Jesus name.
Scripture: 2 Corinthians 11:1-15
Reflection
• Is there any example for me to follow or not to follow?
• Is there any warning for me to heed?
Message: The church in Corinth was putting the issue of personality, style and eloquence above the content of what they had learnt and so began to look down on Paul. They departed from the ‘simplicity that is in Christ’ and began to believe different things (vv.3–5).
Like Eve, they were deceived by the lie of those who masqueraded as apostles of Christ (vv.13–15). How much of this do you see today? Are you personally guilty of it? Paul warned the Corinthians to keep to the Christ he preached and refuse to be led astray by those false teachers who were nothing else but deceitful agents of the devil.
In terms of the gospel of Jesus Christ, no one could fault what Paul taught at Corinth because he knew better than those false teachers who may have been trained speakers but were dishonest handlers of the word.

For the love of the gospel and the Corinthian church, Paul and his companions worked to establish this church without asking for support from them so that the church may be properly established without any financial burdens. How we need such faithful and selfless ministers of the gospel today?

Practice/Word Application
• And so: Read vv.7–12 again. How much do you appreciate personal sacrifice of those who labour among you? Think of this in terms of the love and sincerity that they demonstrate and ask God’s blessing upon them and their families.
Prayer Points
• Father, please bless those that sacrifice so much for the sake of the gospel in our church and societies.
• Pray for the educational needs of the children of missionaries.
• Offer a prayer of faith in line with Isaiah 61:3
