TOPIC: The Impartation of Faith
I have been reminded of your sincere faith, which first lived in your grandmother Lois and in your mother Eunice and, I am persuaded, now lives in you also. For this reason I remind you to fan into flame the gift of God, which is in you through the laying on of my hands.
– 2 Timothy 1:5-6
Paul reminds Timothy of his lineage of faith. He counsels him to fan into flames the gift of God, which was already in him.
Like Timothy, you have a gift of faith, because God gives to each of us a measure of faith (Romans 12:3). Faith can be imparted through the laying on of hands—a transference in the spirit.
Before Smith Wigglesworth went home to be with the Lord, he laid hands on Lester Sumrall and prayed, “Let the faith that is in me come into this young man.” Before Dr. Sumrall went to heaven he did the same to me. Faith through impartation is real my friends… it is real!
If you are struggling with faith…let us pray together: “Lord Jesus, as we join our hearts and minds together in faith, let an impartation come into our spirits from the Holy Spirit, so when we speak a thing according to your will it shall be established. In Jesus’ name, Amen.”
