TOPIC: A New Name
“There is no salvation in any other, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved.” – Acts 4:12
When partners entered into a covenant they also took each other’s names. God, whose name was YHWH took the “H” from His own name and gave it to His covenant partner. The “H” representing the breath of God, breathed life into two childless old people with no hope for their future.

He changed the name of Abram to Abraham, “the father of many nations.” He changed Sarai’s name to Sarah, “a princess.” As God confirmed His covenant with Abraham and His successors, He took on their names and became “The God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob,” and later, “The God of Israel.”
We are given a glimpse of those who have entered into His covenant: and his name shall be on their foreheads (Revelation 22:4). We will be called by His wonderful name as we live in the joy of His presence forever!
