Rod Parsley Devotional 13th January 2025, Monday Message
TOPIC: Faithfulness: The Fruit of the Spirit
If we are faithless, he will remain faithful, for he cannot disown himself.
– 2 Timothy 2:13
There are times we actually think we are the ones hanging onto God. The truth is that God is the One hanging onto us! He is the faithful One.
That’s why we sing: “Great is Thy faithfulness! Morning by morning, new mercies I see. All I have needed Thy hand hath provided; great is Thy faithfulness, Lord unto me!”
You can trust Him, for He is faithful. If we allow His Spirit to bear fruit in our lives, He actually increases our ability to trust and have faith in Him. As the Spirit reminds us of God’s promises, our heart is renewed—and we find we have the faith to step out and obey His word for His kingdom.
“Through these he has given us his very great and precious promises, so that through them you may participate in the divine nature…” (2 Peter 1:4).
The Holy Spirit quickens the Word of God to our minds and shows us the way to go. “Consequently, faith comes from hearing the message, and the message is heard through the word of Christ” (Romans 10:17). Faithfulness to God is a fruit of the Spirit, and it increases as we draw closer to Him.
Thank you God for your faithfulness and mercy towards me, even when I didn’t deserve it. Teach me how to be faithful to you in every area of my life. Let my faith and trust in you increase day by day, for you are the only one that has always been faithful to me. Amen
