All through the Bible, forgiveness and healing are found hand-in-hand in relation to the redemptive work of Jesus. I like to call it Calvary’s double cure.

In one instance, as Jesus was teaching to a packed house in the town of Capernaum, four men brought their paralytic friend to the Master to be healed. But as the crowd overflowed into the street, the men didn’t give up. When they saw they couldn’t get in through the front door, they climbed up onto the house, dug a hole in the roof, and lowered the invalid on a cot right in front of Jesus!
Moved by their faith, Jesus declared, “Son, your sins are forgiven!” The Scribes began to murmur, “Who does He think He is? He’s not God! He can’t forgive sins!” Knowing their thoughts, He asked, “Why do you question whether it is easier to say your sins are forgiven or take up your bed and walk?” Then Jesus went further and told the paralytic man, “Arise! Take up your bed and go home.” (Mark 2:1-11).
By faith, I appropriate Calvary’s double cure.
