During this Labor Day, we thank those who work every day, laboring in jobs all across our nation, jobs that enrich our lives: waiters and waitresses who serve those who are hungry, factory workers who help produce the goods that we consume, truck drivers who make sure those goods get to their destination, those who work in offices and make our lives run a little smoother, and many, many more.
We thank the millions of people who labor and keep our nation running strong and who contribute to the prosperity and well-being of our country. But we know the source of it all is Almighty God who has truly blessed us with the many things we enjoy each and every day.
God has abundantly provided for us here in America. We know without a doubt that it is our heavenly Father who provides every good and perfect gift from above (James 1:17).
Holy Spirit, help me to recognize and appreciate the unsung heroes in the workforce, who make my day run a little smoother.
