Train Up Your Child

Rhema for Living 9 April 2022 Devotional MESSAGE
It is not enough to give birth to a child and give them sweet names, dress them up expensively for a show. It is your responsibility to bring up your chikd in the way he should go, in the way of the Lord with godly character. At a tender age children are easily molded to become who you want them to be. They are easily corrected and guided. So where you ought to correct your child, don’t let it go saying he is a child.
Your action today determines his person tomorrow. Also children observe and learn from their environment. As a parent, lead by example. Don’t teach something different from what you do before your child. Let the atmosphere of your home portray what you teach your child.
There are parents that teach godly character to their children, but those living under their roof corrupts their children unknown to them.
Please don’t be too busy to observe what goes on in your home. Whoever must stay under your roof must be brought under your spiritual scrutiny. You cannot sow seed and another is sowing tares among your seed. The destiny of your child is too precious to be left to chance. Invest your time and every resource needed to pattern your child to become the adult you desire him to be. Remember you are only a caretaker and would account to the one who gave you that child to bring up in His ways.
The child of a believer should be the light in his class, school, neighborhood and the world at large. Foul language can’t proceed from his mouth because it is not anywhere in his system. Evil company, he just wouldn’t keep because he has been moulded to choose friends with godly virtues and principles like Daniel’s friends. He delights in serving the Lord and obeying his commands.
Dear parents, arise! Let people celebrate you for being the parent of that destiny moulded child.
PRAYER: My Father! My Father! As I begin to pray, I receive fresh grace to bring up my child in the way he should go.
