MEMORY VERSE: ‘For the kingdom of God is not meat and drink; but righteousness and peace, and joy in the Holy Ghost Romans 14:17

He is God’s presence and being with you-in you. The Holy Spirit is the very spirit of Christ. The disciples could not do anything until the power of the Holy Spirit came upon them. That power gave them the image and nature of God to rule and dominate their world.

      LESSON EIGHT (08)
TOPIC: WAYS GOD BLESSES A MAN (GOOD HEALTH)
      BIBLE TEXT: 2 Kings 20:1-5

HYMN FOR TODAY: Have you been to Jesus tor the cleansing power

MEMORY VERSE: ‘So you will serve the Lord your God, and He will bless your water and I will take sickness away from the midst of you’ Exodus 23:25

LESSON AIM: At the end of the study, they should understand that good health is a blessing from God.

CENTRAL TRUTH: Serving God brings good health.

INTRODUCTION: God desires His people to live in perfect health. In heaven there is no sickness or disease, and God longs for you to experience heaven’s reality while living on the earth. Jesus has therefore paid the price for our healing and long and good health. All through the New Testament we see Jesus healing all who came to Him for healing from every manner of sickness and disease, and in the book of Acts we see believers doing the same works Jesus did. Do not tolerate sickness because it will hinder you from serving God. Access good health through Jesus so you can be strong and happy to do the work of the master: He gave us everything on the cross: 1 Peter 2:24 God said, “If you will give earnest heed to the voice of the LORD your God, and do what is right in His sight, and give ear to His commandments, and keep all His statutes, I will put none of the diseases on you which I have put on the Egyptians; for I, the LORD, am
      your Healer” (Exodus 15:26).

      STUDY GUIDE:
      A. God gives us blessing of healing;
      • God takes away all sickness and give us good health Deut 7:15
      • Hezekiah was sick, He called on God and he was healed.
      • When you serve God, He renews your strength Isa 40:31
      • Moses served the Lord till he was 120 years.
      B. Natural things that bring good health:
      • Regular exercise
      • Good food- balanced diet
      • Good drinking water
      • Enough sleep
      • Regular check ups
      C. Benefits of good health;
      1. Healthy living
      2. Living happy without pains
      3. Not spending in hospital for treatment
      4. Serving God without stress

ACTIVITY: Teacher should lead the teens to discuss things that can bring ill health.

LIFE APPLICATION: You want to enjoy the blessing of perfect health from God, you must surrender your life to Jesus Christ and serve Him.

CONCLUSION: Healing is the blessing of God offered to everyone who believes in Jesus. God wants you strong and healthy. Of course, we are to care for our bodies well with a healthy diet, fresh air, and exercise, but if we get attacked with sickness, disease, or infirmity, we have promises we can stand on for our healing. For anyone to enjoy good health, that person must belong to the Great Physician – The Lord Jesus Christ. Good health is the children’s bread and should not be given to dogs Mark 7:26-30

      LESSON NINE (09)
TOPIC:THE WAYS GOD BLESSES A MAN (SPIRITUAL BLESSING)

      BIBLE TEXT: Ephesians 1:1-3

MEMORY VERSE: EPHESIANS 1:3 ” Blessed be the God and father of our Lord Jesus Christ who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ.”

HYMN FOR TODAY: Holy, Holy, Holy, Lord God, Almighty.

LESSON AIM: At the end of the study, teenagers should know how God blesses a man spiritually.

CENTRAL TRUTH: All the blessings of God are spiritual because the spiritual controls the physical.

INTRODUCTION: Blessings are in categories. There are both physical and spiritual blessings. Both come from God through Jesus. Spiritual blessings are those given to us by God. They are also any good and perfect gift given by God (James 1:17). Spiritual blessings are given by God to those who are in Christ. We are going to highlight these spiritual blessings and their importance to believers. We all wish to be blessed by God – so much so that many people often pronounce blessings on others, such as: “God bless you”.

      STUDY GUIDE:
      A. Importance/benefit of spiritual blessings:
      a. It gives an advantage in different areas of life [Daniel 5:12, Daniel 6:3]
      b. It promotes prosperity.
      c. It equips one in preaching the gospel.
      d. Encourages believers in their walk with God [Colossians 2:2-3]
      e. They are given to believers to help each other and for the sake of growing the church (1 Cor 12:7-11;1 Peter 4:10).

      B. Differentiate and compare spiritual and physical blessings with biblical references and check the following:

      Mark 10:29-30, James 1:17, Gen 1:28, John 6:27a
      1. Spiritual blessings are eternal – Mark 10:29-30
      2. Every good gift both physical and spiritual are from God – James 1:l
      3. God commanded us to enjoy these blessings – Genesis 1:28
      4. Spiritual blessings do not perish – John 6:27

      C. What must you do to have access to these spiritual blessing
      • Accept Jesus as your Lord and savior and all the gifts will be yours
      • Live a life of obedience Eph 6:1-3
      • Work for God by serving at home, school and church
      • Pray always 1 Thess. 5:17

LIFE APPLICATION: Look through the beatitudes and see how you can shape your character in each of the beatitudes to see the divine blessings attached to them in your life e.g Blessed are the pure in heart for they shall see God – Matthew 5:8.

CONCLUSION: God is faithful in all things. He will bless you and take you to heaven if you remain faithful. Walk with Jesus daily. If we yield ourselves to Him, inviting His Spirit to come into our life, He will come. The more you yield, the more He fills. Invite Him to fill you afresh right now. Receive His presence and empowerment by faith.

Abraham lived a full life and was rich in all things when he died at the ripe old age of one hundred and seventy five. Caleb at aged eighty-five was eager to achieve more for God. Moses began to lead Israel through the wilderness in his eighties, and in his older years his eyes did not grow dim. Everybody desires long life and people can do anything or give all they have to live long. The blessing of long life is for every child of God to claim freely in Christ Jesus.

      STUDY GUIDE
