Luke 20:37–38 (NIV):
“But in the account of the burning bush, even Moses showed that the dead rise, for he calls the Lord ‘the God of Abraham, and the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob.’ He is not the God of the dead, but of the living, for to him all are alive.”
Prayer of the Day – The God of the Living
Heavenly Father,
Thank You for being the God of the living. As I rise this day, I am reminded that You are not distant or disconnected, but present and active in every moment. Your Word reminds me that You are the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob—not because they once lived, but because they still live in You. You are eternal, and through Christ, I am invited into that same life that never ends.
Lord, in a world often overshadowed by fear, loss, and uncertainty, I take comfort in knowing that You hold life itself. You conquered death, and in You, all who believe have everlasting life. Help me to live this day not weighed down by what has passed or what I fear ahead, but grounded in the reality that I am alive in You—right now, fully known and deeply loved.
God of the living, awaken my spirit to walk in Your presence. Let my thoughts, words, and actions reflect the joy of resurrection life. Let me not drift through this day as if I am surviving, but rather living—abundantly, gratefully, and purposefully. May I carry the light of Christ into every space I enter, knowing that Your life in me can touch the world around me.
Lord Jesus, You declared that You are the resurrection and the life. Because You live, I also live. So I ask that You breathe fresh hope into me today. Where I feel weary, revive me. Where I feel forgotten, remind me that You see me. Where I feel broken, heal me. In You, death has no final word, and every dry place can be restored.
Father, may I not only believe this truth for myself but proclaim it to others. Let my life be a testimony that You are the God of the living. Use my voice to encourage those who feel lifeless, and let my heart be open to share Your truth with those searching for meaning. Remind me that eternal life begins the moment we walk with You.
Today, I choose to walk as one who is fully alive. Not because of what I’ve done, but because of who You are. You are the God who sees beyond the grave, who brings hope out of despair, and who calls the dead to rise. Thank You for calling me into this living hope through Jesus Christ.
In Your powerful and life-giving name I pray,
Amen.
