“The Lord said to Aaron, ‘You will have no inheritance in their land, nor will you have any share among them; I am your share and your inheritance among the Israelites.’” (Numbers 18:20, NIV)
Prayer for Today – Inspired by Numbers 18:20
Heavenly Father, today I come before You with open hands and an open heart, reminded by Your Word that You, O Lord, are my portion and my inheritance. In a world that treasures what can be touched, owned, and displayed, You call me to something deeper—to treasure You above all. I lay down my striving for worldly gain and set my heart on the eternal gift of Your presence.
Lord, help me to see the beauty in having You as my share. When others count success by what they gather, teach me to count my greatest gain in knowing You. Like Aaron, I may not always possess what the world calls wealth or status, but I have something far greater—You, the everlasting God, as my daily portion.
Today, let me live with the assurance that I am not lacking. When I feel small or overlooked, remind me that my inheritance is not measured in land, titles, or possessions. It is measured in grace, in mercy, in Your nearness. Let that truth anchor me when anxiety whispers that I need more to be enough.
Father, protect my heart from envy and comparison. When others seem to prosper in visible ways, help me to rejoice without bitterness, knowing that Your calling on my life is different, yet no less rich. Give me eyes to see the invisible blessings—the peace that guards my heart, the joy that runs deeper than circumstance.
Let my satisfaction be rooted not in what changes, but in who You are. You are unshakable, unchanging, always faithful. When the ground beneath me shifts, You remain my constant. You are not only my inheritance after this life, but my portion in this life. Day by day, moment by moment, You are enough.
Use me, Lord, like You used Aaron—not for my own legacy, but to serve as a vessel of Your presence. May I stand in the gap for others, carry Your name with reverence, and walk humbly in the calling You’ve given me. Let my life reflect that my greatest reward is You.
Thank You, Lord, for being more than enough. I may not always see what lies ahead, but I know Who goes with me. So today, I walk forward not as one empty-handed, but as one richly blessed. You are my share and my inheritance, and in You, I find all I need.
Amen.
