O Lord, my God, today I rise with longing in my soul, like dry ground aching for rain. I come before You not out of routine, but out of deep hunger—for no earthly thing can satisfy what only Your presence can fill. In a world that feels barren and loud, I pause to seek You first, believing You meet me not only in the sanctuary, but in the still corners of my morning.
Father, You are my portion and my pursuit. The distractions are many, and yet, like David in the wilderness, I lift my eyes above my circumstances to say, “You are my God.” Not just in comfort, but in need; not just in plenty, but in thirst. I claim You again today as the only One worth seeking above all else.
Let my heart not grow weary in the waiting. Teach me to long for You more than answers, more than clarity, more than resolution. Help me to desire You more than comfort, more than success, more than the approval of others. If I have You, I lack nothing. If I lose sight of You, even abundance feels empty.
As I step into the hours ahead, breathe Your Spirit into my soul. Shape my intentions, soften my reactions, align my plans with Yours. Quench my thirst not with quick fixes, but with Your Word, Your nearness, and Your peace that defies understanding. You alone can satisfy the deep places.
Lord, forgive me for the times I’ve searched elsewhere for what only You provide. Forgive the shallow sips I’ve taken from wells that do not last. Today, I return to You—my true source, my hiding place, my wellspring. Let this day be marked by continual seeking, constant return, and quiet surrender.
Strengthen me to walk through whatever deserts this day may bring. Let praise rise even in the dry places. Let trust grow where understanding fades. Let the memory of Your past faithfulness give shape to my present prayers. I trust that even the wilderness holds Your presence.
You, O God, are my God. Earnestly I seek You—not just to survive the day, but to live it fully in communion with You. Be glorified in me today, not because I am strong, but because I am Yours. May every longing in me lead me closer to You.
Amen.
