In our Focal Scripture, the widow of the late son of the prophets told Elisha that she had nothing, except her pot of oil. That woman was on the brink of losing her sons to the creditor, she was in a bad situation, but she still had a pot of oil. That pot of oil eventually became the pathway to her increase. She had something that was still working, and it became an open door to God’s blessing. She worked on what was working, and things changed.

Friend, things around you may have gone awry, helpers may have deserted you, supporters may have gone far away from you, doors you expected to be opened may have remained shut longer than you expected, things may have crumbled all around you, but if there be anything that is still working in or around you, work on it and it will open new chapters of divine visitation for you. Work on what is working.

Your life may look like a desert at the moment, things may not have played out as desired, but if your pot of oil remains, then be sure that God will soon spring a new surprise that will shock everyone around you. If there be a pot of oil, then abundance is on the way. If there is something left, there is something God can bless. If there is one more effort, one more client, one more idea, etc, then there is a platform for God to show up big time.

The widow who met Elisha did not speak excitedly about her pot of oil. She seemed to overlook the same pot of oil that would eventually be the platform for her increase. Never look down on anything that is still working around you. Don’t look down on your little efforts because they are yet to yield results. Don’t look down on your little. Don’t despise your little beginnings. Don’t abandon your pot of oil.

Remember, the pot of oil later multiplied. Work on what is working, and it will work for you; and if there be something left, there is something God can bless.

Isaiah 35: 3 says: “Strengthen ye the weak hands, and confirm the feeble knees.”

Declare With Me: I will work on what is still working; God will bless me through what is left, in Jesus’ name!
