Open Heaven For Teens – 31st July 2025 Daily Devotional Message By Pastor E.A Adeboye And Pastor (Mrs) Folu Adeboye
TOPIC: Forgive Your Offenders
MEMORISE
So likewise shall my heavenly Father do also unto you, if ye from your hearts forgive not everyone his brother their trespasses. – Matthew 18:35
SCRIPTURE READING
Matthew 18:23-35
23 “Therefore, the kingdom of heaven is like a king who wanted to settle accounts with his servants. 24 As he began the settlement, a man who owed him ten thousand bags of gold[a] was brought to him. 25 Since he was not able to pay, the master ordered that he and his wife and his children and all that he had be sold to repay the debt.
26 “At this the servant fell on his knees before him. ‘Be patient with me,’ he begged, ‘and I will pay back everything.’ 27 The servant’s master took pity on him, canceled the debt and let him go.
28 “But when that servant went out, he found one of his fellow servants who owed him a hundred silver coins.[b] He grabbed him and began to choke him. ‘Pay back what you owe me!’ he demanded.
29 “His fellow servant fell to his knees and begged him, ‘Be patient with me, and I will pay it back.’
30 “But he refused. Instead, he went off and had the man thrown into prison until he could pay the debt. 31 When the other servants saw what had happened, they were outraged and went and told their master everything that had happened.
32 “Then the master called the servant in. ‘You wicked servant,’ he said, ‘I canceled all that debt of yours because you begged me to. 33 Shouldn’t you have had mercy on your fellow servant just as I had on you?’ 34 In anger his master handed him over to the jailers to be tortured, until he should pay back all he owed.
35 “This is how my heavenly Father will treat each of you unless you forgive your brother or sister from your heart.”
Open Heaven For Teens – 30 July 2025 MESSAGE
Many people are like the servant in today’s Bible reading. He received forgiveness from his master but refused to forgive his own offender. Some people usually give the excuse that it is not easy to forgive. However, every time they offend God, He forgives them. I want you to know that forgiveness is not a choice; it is a command. Today’s memory verse says that God will not forgive you if you do not forgive others.
Believe me, people have wronged me and treated me unjustly in the past, but I asked the Holy Spirit to help me forgive them and take my mind off the issue. The truth is that no matter how offended you are, you must forgive your offenders because God has commanded it.
My dear child, some hurts take time to heal, and some offences might seem unforgivable; however, the Holy Spirit will comfort you when you are hurting. I am grateful to God today because He has helped me to forgive a lot of my offenders.
KEY POINT
You must forgive those who hurt you.
BIBLE IN ONE YEAR
2 Chronicles 29:1-36 Romans 14:1-23
HYMN 30
WHEN WE WALK WITH THE LORD
1. When we walk with the Lord
in the light of his word,
what a glory he sheds on our way!
While we do his good will,
he abides with us still,
and with all who will trust and obey.
Refrain: Trust and obey, for there’s no other way
to be happy in Jesus, but to trust and obey.
2. But we never can prove
the delights of his love
until all on the altar we lay;
for the favor he shows,
for the joy he bestows,
are for them who will trust and obey. [Refrain]
3. Then in fellowship sweet
we will sit at his feet,
or we’ll walk by his side in the way;
what he says we will do,
where he sends we will go;
never fear, only trust and obey. [Refrain]
