Open Heaven For Teens – 19 October 2025 TOPIC: Always Remain Humble
MEMORISE
But he giveth more grace. Wherefore he saith, God resisteth the proud, but giveth grace unto the humble.
James 4:6
SCRIPTURE READING
1 Samuel 9:6-10
6 And he said unto him, Behold now, there is in this city a man of God, and he is an honourable man; all that he saith cometh surely to pass: now let us go thither; peradventure he can shew us our way that we should go.
7 Then said Saul to his servant, But, behold, if we go, what shall we bring the man? for the bread is spent in our vessels, and there is not a present to bring to the man of God: what have we?
8 And the servant answered Saul again, and said, Behold, I have here at hand the fourth part of a shekel of silver: that will I give to the man of God, to tell us our way.
9 (Beforetime in Israel, when a man went to enquire of God, thus he spake, Come, and let us go to the seer: for he that is now called a Prophet was beforetime called a Seer.)
10 Then said Saul to his servant, Well said; come, let us go. So they went unto the city where the man of God was.
Open Heaven For Teens – 19 October 2025 MESSAGE
Saul was a humble young man before he became the king of Israel. One day, his father gave him the task of finding his lost donkeys. During his search, Saul sought God’s guidance, and this led him to Prophet Samuel, who told him where to find the donkeys and also anointed him as Israel’s first king.
It is sad that the once humble Saul became proud and disobedient to God after he became the king of Israel. Sadly, many teenagers end up like Saul, rebelling against God’s instructions after He has answered their prayers. My dear child, please do not be like Saul.
Beloved, God is interested in every detail of your life – from the way you dress to the type of fellow you want to marry, the businesses you want to do, your choice of financial investments, your relationship with your parents and relatives, and so on. This is why you must obey God’s instructions according to His word in every aspect of your life. You must not be like Saul, who, despite God’s help and favour, chose not to honour God’s instruction in 1 Samuel 15:1-23. Remain humble before God, and He will keep lifting you higher.
Quiz: Why did God reject King Saul?
PRAYER POINT
Father, please help me to remain humble before you all the days of my life.
BIBLE IN ONE YEAR
Jeremiah 33:1-34:22 1 Timothy 4:1-16
HYMN 33
GUIDE ME, O THOU GREAT JEHOVAH!
1. Guide me, O Thou great Jehovah!
Pilgrim through this barren land;
I am weak, but Thou art mighty,
Hold me with Thy powerful hand:
Bread of heaven! Bread of heaven!
Feed me now and evermore (2ce)
2. Open Thou the crystal fountain,
Whence the healing stream doth flow:
Let the fiery, cloudy pillar
Lead me all my journey through:
Strong deliverer! strong deliverer!
Be Thou still my strength and shield (2ce)
3. If I tread the verge of Jordan,
Bid my anxious fears subside:
Bear me through the swelling torrent,
Land me safe on Canaan’s side:
Songs of praises! songs of praises!
I will ever give to Thee (2ce)
4. Saviour, come! We long to see Thee,
Long to dwell with Thee above;
And to know in full communion,
All the sweetness of Thy love.
Come, Lord Jesus! Come, Lord Jesus!
Take Thy waiting people home (2ce)
