TOPIC: The Meek

MEMORISE
The meek will he guide in judgment: and the meek will he teach his way.
Psalms 25:9

READ: Matthew 26:47-54

As a teenager, you are one of the leaders of tomorrow. This means that you need to start cultivating the right attributes that will make you successful as a leader in the future.

Meekness is an attribute of the Holy Spirit that you have to cultivate now if you want to achieve great feats in life. To be meek is to have authority but show great restraint in exercising it. For example, Moses was referred to as the meekest man on earth (Numbers 12:3) because, on several occasions, the Israelites spoke against him, but he remained calm. Even when God wanted to punish them, he still pleaded on their behalf. Jesus Christ is another example of a person who showed great meekness. When He was beaten and crucified, He could have called on angels to save Him, but He didn’t.

Beloved, don’t be so temperamental that you seek vengeance against everyone who offends you. If you want to be a successful leader, you must be meek. You must also be ready to forgive whoever wrongs you. Be like your heavenly Father, who is slow to anger and rich in mercy (Psalm 145:8).
