TOPIC: Appreciate Your Leaders

MEMORISE: And the angel of the Lord came again the second time, and touched him, and said, Arise and eat; because the journey is too great for thee. 1 Kings 19:7

READ: John 6:5-13
[5]When Jesus then lifted up his eyes, and saw a great company come unto him, he saith unto Philip, Whence shall we buy bread, that these may eat?

[6]And this he said to prove him: for he himself knew what he would do.
[7]Philip answered him, Two hundred pennyworth of bread is not sufficient for them, that every one of them may take a little.

[8]One of his disciples, Andrew, Simon Peter’s brother, saith unto him,
[9]There is a lad here, which hath five barley loaves, and two small fishes: but what are they among so many?
[10]And Jesus said, Make the men sit down. Now there was much grass in the place. So the men sat down, in number about five thousand.

[11]And Jesus took the loaves; and when he had given thanks, he distributed to the disciples, and the disciples to them that were set down; and likewise of the fishes as much as they would.
[12]When they were filled, he said unto his disciples, Gather up the fragments that remain, that nothing be lost.
[13]Therefore they gathered them together, and filled twelve baskets with the fragments of the five barley loaves, which remained over and above unto them that had eaten.

Open Heaven For Teens 12 June 2024 – MESSAGE

Many years ago, I woke up one morning feeling depressed even though I had been fasting for days. I wondered if all I was doing at that time was worth it because I didn’t feel loved by the people I was labouring over; all that they used to tell me was, “Daddy do this, Daddy do that.” Even their prayers for me did not usually go beyond, “May God keep you for us.”

One day, I was asleep when a young girl woke me up and said, “Daddy, I don’t know the voice of God, but this morning, He asked me to bring this little cake to you. I know it is not the devil because he will not tell me to give my pastor a cake.” As she was leaving, God said to me, “I thought you said nobody cares?” This act snapped me out of my depression, and I was on fire again.

Beloved, in what ways have you encouraged your pastors who have been praying for you, your teachers in school who have been teaching you, or your Sunday school teachers for always putting you in check and teaching you the ways of God? A gift or appreciation note can do a lot in their lives.

ACTION POINT
Do something, no matter how little, to appreciate any of your leaders this week

HYMN 11 – O LORD MY GOD, WHEN AM IN AWESOME WONDER
1. O lord my God!
When am in awesome wonder,
consider all
The worlds thy hands hath made
I see the stars,
I heard the rolling thunder
Thy pow’r thro’ out
The universe displayed

CHORUS
Then sing my soul,
My savior God to thee;
How great Thou art!
How great Thou art!
Then sing my soul,
My savior God to thee;
How great Thou art!
How great Thou art!

2. Then through the woods
And forest glads I wander,
And hear the birds
Sing sweetly in the tress;
When I look down
From lofty mountain grandeur
And hear the brook
And feel the gentle breeze;

3. And when I think
That God, His Son not sparing
Sent Him to die
I scare can take it in;
That on the cross,
My burden gladly bearing,
He bled and died
To take away my sin.

4. When Christ shall come
With shout of acclamation
And take me home,
What joy shall fill my heart!
Then I shall bow
In humble adoration
And there proclaim,
My God how great Thou art!
