SCRIPTURE: Acts 13 :15.
TEXT: Moreover it is required in stewards, that a man be found faithful. 1 Corinthians 4 :2.
It is one thing to render service and another thing for it to be acceptable to God. One quality that makes service acceptable to God, is faithfulness.
Faithfulness is not eye-service. Faithfulness means to be dependable. It is to be counted upon. Faithfulness is a major requirement for stewardship. When you do not come to church regularly, you are a ghost worker and ghost workers are not entitled to salaries.
The Bible says, “Most men will proclaim every one his own goodness: but a faithful man who can find?” (Proverbs 20:6).
How faithful are you? Can God look at you and call you faithful? God is searching for a faithful man and a faithful man will always be recognized by God.
In 2 Kings 12:10-15, there was an account of faithful service” When they saw that there was much money in the chest which Jehoiada, the priest set beside the altar, the king’s scribe and the high priest put bags and told, the money that was found in the house of the LORD and they gave the money being told into the hands of them that did the work that had oversight of the house of the LORD and they laid it out to the carpenters and builders and others responsible for various aspect of work for the repair of the house of the LORD”.
The last verse says, “Moreover, they reckoned not with the man, into whose hand they delivered the money to be bestowed on workmen: for they dealt faithfully.”
I pray for you today – may God help you to be faithful; and also help you not to drive faithful men into unfaithfulness because of unnecessary distrust.
PRAYER.
My Father! My Father! As I begin to pray, help me to be faithful, in Jesus name.
