Handle Your Weakness
by Rev. (Dr) Lizzy Johnson-Suleman

TODAY’S SCRIPTURE: Psalm 1-3

TEXT: Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us. Hebrew 12:1.

What is that weakness that is prevalent in your life? What is that habit that you still struggle to overcome? Child of God, handle that weakness now! Do not hid it in the sand as moses did.
Every regenerated child of God is expected to walk in the newness of life, dead unto sin and alive unto God with his members yielded as instruments of righteousness unto God. Romans 6:11-13.

Any aspect of life where you still struggle to bring forth fruits of righteousness is an area of weakness. In most cases, these area of weakness are the negative natural tendency of an individual provoked by their genetic, environmental, or spiritual factor before he or she became born again. The issue here is that these areas of weakness if not properly handled with the help of the Holy Spirit can destroy a believer. The undoing of most people have been their weakness. The devil uses your area of weakness to get at your strength.

An example of a man whose weakness devalued his strength in the scripture was Samson. Samson had a major weakness which resulted in him not ending well. He had an obvious weakness for women. After chapter 13 in which an introduction about his life was given, the subsequent chapter was about women. Despite his enormous strength, that weakness that was not checked swallowed up his ministry. David had a similar weakness for women which put a scar on his destiny. Job said, “I made a convenant with mine eyes; why then should I think upon a maid?” Job 31:1. Job put that measure in place to keep himself from committing adultery.

But as for David, there was no such measure. He fixed his gaze on Bathsheba and fell; that singular act put a scar on his destiny.

I pray for you, you will not be victim of manipulation due to your weakness.

PRAYER: My Father! My Father! As I begin to pray, I receive fresh empowerment to handle my weakness.
